Our Community Speedwatch Team completed all nine planned sessions, despite of the heat. They were supported by the Cirencester Police for three afternoon sessions, and also by one of the Gloucestershire Constabulary Camera Enforcement Officers to mark the National Community Speedwatch Day of Action.

The Wednesday evening session was at the later time of 7pm as many villagers had remarked about increased speeding in the evening. This was backed up by their results both with the numbers and speed of vehicles recorded. We thought that this was a worthwhile experiment which will be repeated when light allows.

  • 1134 vehicles were checked.
  • 62 were exceeding the speed limit, and 30% of those were exceeding 40 mph.
